What Should I Do Before I Reach the Clinic?

Knocked-Out Tooth
Knocked-out tooth: hold it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently, and keep it in milk or inside your cheek. Get to us within 60 minutes.
Toothache
Toothache: rinse with warm salt water and take over-the-counter pain relief if you normally can. Do not put aspirin directly on the gum, it burns the tissue.
Broken Tooth
Broken tooth: save any pieces, rinse your mouth, and use a cold compress on the cheek for swelling.
Lost Crown
Lost crown: keep it safe and bring it with you. Often we can re-cement the same crown.

My tooth stopped hurting, do I still need to come in?
Yes, and this one is important. When an infected tooth suddenly stops hurting, it often means the nerve has died. The infection is still there and spreading quietly. Get it checked.
Can you do an emergency root canal or extraction the same day?
In many cases, yes. If the tooth can be saved we usually start root canal treatment immediately. If not, we discuss extraction and replacement.
Do you accept walk-in emergency patients?
